ok, here are my thoughts: (a) i feel like i OUGHT to make a comment on this picture. (2) deep down i don’t really WANT to comment on it. (iii) even in what i have already typed here, i am likely revealing some kind of sub-par perspective or sentiment or appreciation on the background and significance of the picture - like i should know more or be more deeply…something. but i won’t spill over into an unhealthy, floating guilt over this either. zippo value in that. (d) it’s a really good picture with much meaning.

I can’t look at this without thinking of “Saving Private Ryan,” a truly heart-breaking, gut-wrenching movie that I love but cannot watch again.
